Dimensions: 9 x 13 Artist's Statement about this work: We walked through this enchanting downtown every day for a week while my husband was making a documentary there. I thought Chipping Campden was one of the most quaint and picturesque villages I had ever seen. The morning light was especially warm and appealing.
This watercolor was painted primarily in just 3 passes -- one for the lights, one for the medium values and one for the darks. I completed a companion painting done entirely greyscale prior to completing this one.

Dimensions: 9 x 13 Artist's Statement about this work: Walking through Richmond on a little footpath along the banks of the Thames, I noticed these multicolored rowboats tied to an ancient-looking wood-and stone dock. I loved the playful colors of the boats, the bumpy rhythm of them, not-quite-lined-up, diagonals contrasting with the horizontality of the dock, the playful light and shadow on the water, and the unpredictable texture of the stone. Yet, for all the playfulness, these boats are going nowhere! They're practically waving to the passers-by, "Come play with me! Take me out on the water!"
